Birding, Geology & Natural History Bus Trip

Bird Bus

Get to know the birds, natural history, and the geology of the Houston area better on this Sunday morning bus trip. Dan Jackson, your birding guide, will show you the birds of the area, including Bald Eagles. With a lot of luck you might also get to see a Great Horned Owl nest or a roosting Eastern Screech-Owl. NRCS state geologist for MN and WI, Tim Weisbrod, will talk about the interesting geology of the area. Lifelong Houston resident Brian Lee will highlight other natural history of the area in between birds and geology. The trip concludes with a mouth-watering authentic German meal at Through the Grapevine German Restaurant in Houston. The bus is not handicapped accessible and participants will get on and off the bus in multiple locations. Bus leaves from the Houston Nature Center.

8:30 AM - 12:30 PM Sunday, March 6, 2016. Bus leaves from the Houston Nature Center, 215 W Plum St.

Cost is $30/person and includes the meal. If registering February 29 or later the cost is $40/person. Limit 40 people.
