Our Saturday night program includes a banquet, presentation of the World Owl Hall of Fame Awards, and a presentation  by the Champion of Owls award winner.

The Saga of the Spotted Owl: from conservation conflicts to science and back again

Rocky Gutierrez has been studying Spotted Owls for decades. He'll be talking about how the Spotted Owl/logger conflict motivated high quality science, which didn't solve the problem. Now it's back to conflict again with new threats to the Spotted Owl.



2017 Banquet Menu:

  • Pork Tenderloin in Orange Sauce, Jasmine Rice, Field Green Salad

Vegan option:

  • Vegan lasagna, Citrus Poppy Seed Romaine Salad

All entrees include roast green beans, a ciabatta-style dinner roll, coffee, milk, and sorbet.


5:00 PM Social Hour at JT's, 6:00 PM Meal. Program to follow the meal. Saturday, March 4, 2017, Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 210 S Chase St, Houston, MN.

Cost is $40/person to attend the banquet and presentation ($35 for International Owl Center members). Cost is $50/person if registering February 27 or later for members or non-members. Limit 150. Pre-registration required for meal planning.
