The mission of the International Festival of Owls is to:

- spark a personal connection to owls and the environments we share with them

- provide financial support for the Houston Nature Center

- stimulate tourism in the Houston area.

Fun stuff!

The International Festival of Owls is a great place to have fun learning about owls, whether you're a kid or just a kid at heart.

Above, the grandchildren of Dr. C. Stuart Houston, Great Horned Owl researcher from Saskatoon, Canada, enjoy the 2008 festival with Hooston, our owl mascot.  Their grandfather was the keynote speaker and the World Owl Hall of Fame's Champion of Owls award winner.

Serious stuff too.

For the more serious owl aficionados, we have internationally known speakers, we present the annual World Owl Hall of Fame awards, and we hold a raffle to benefit the Global Owl Project.  We also host special outdoor owl photography sessions.
